On Easter Sunday, in addition to being a day of honoring our Savior's resurrection - we (Kimberly, Candy, and I) also had the opportunity to celebrate Kimberly's 25th birthday. We started the day with a wonderful brunch we all contributed to making (in her small kitchen it proved to be a little interesting!). Later, we walked through Old Town and down to the waterfront park. It was a beautiful day. Families were flying kites, playing with their dogs (we enjoyed watching a rambunctious toy poodle run for Frisbees), and sailing. Kimberly had told us earlier that she wants a friend who has a sailboat, and I attempted to yell at the sailors and ask them if they would be her friend, but I’m not sure that she found that very amusing. Back at her apartment we settled comfortably on the plush couch, watched “Mrs. Pettigrew Lives for a Day” and ate triple chocolate fudge cake. It was a magnificent day with numerous reminders of how many things we have to be thankful for.
