Nearly two weeks ago, I dropped off Candy in Maryland. For the next four years she will be attending Washington Bible College and majoring in Sports Ministry. Honestly, driving away from her was one of the hardest things I have done in my life - but I am so thankful that we have an ever-present and comforting God. My daily routine has certainly changed from the constantly on-the-go "parent", to more time at home. I haven't decided if I like it or not. Maybe I have. I'd take her back any day and run around to all of her life events again. It's hard to do that when you're 530 miles away.
Candy seems to be adjusting well, and she's making new friends and loves her roommate (a major answer to prayer!). Volleyball certainly tested her physical endurance at first, but she's doing great now and tells me she's "jacked". Please keep her and her teammates in prayer as they play and travel to games - often on the weekends. If you would like to send her a card, you can mail it to:

Thanks for keeping us in your prayers - I think we both need it for the adjustments we're making together, being apart.
